Adult Education
Adult education is a vital part of St. John's. During the year we host various activities for adults in our parish. All of our activities are in a hybrid format, with Zoom and in-person participation:
Book Discussions
: Throughout the year we host book discussions with works chosen for their social importance as well as those aimed towards spiritual growth. Several of our recent selections include:
White Fragility
,
Tattoos on the Heart: The Power of Boundless Compassion
, and
Reading the Bible Again for the First Time: Taking the Bible Seriously but not Literally
.
Lectionary Reflections
: Throughout the Liturgical Year we host month-long discussions in which we delve deeper into the Lectionary and the readings on Sunday. These are opportunities for parishioners to share their responses to readings from the previous Sunday, closely examine the passages, and reflect on how readings from the Lectionary impact their lives.
